Ascot 1.40
We are set to see some nice horses this afternoon at both Ascot and Haydock and KARGESE will be looking to get favourite backers off to a flyer. She was progressive last season and her form behind Majborough and then Sir Gino looks even better now. Should be winning this.
Take No Chances is tough and likeable and her form is solid so I expect her to chase the favourite home.
Haydock 1.55
Impossible to look past ROYAL INFANTRY here for Dan and Harry Skelton. His only defeat to date came in the Champion Bumper and he has looked promising making it 2-2 over hurdles over C&D last time. He is a strong stayer over 2 miles and with more to come can win again.
Peacenik has been a drifter but he did impress winning at Exeter and if he can jump better he might be value to finish second.
Ascot 2.15
The way KOTMASK hit the line to beat Scarface at this track last month was quite impressive so I don’t think the step up in trip here will count against him and I’m confident he can confirm that form despite a 3lb rise. He is likeable and should take a bit of beating.
Scarface keeps knocking on the door and is the likely danger again but at bigger odds Terresita is in with a good shout too.
Haydock 2.30
Royale Pagaille was so gutsy to fight back and win the Betfair Chase but I think that would have taken a lot out of him. He has to give lumps of weight away here and age is against him. I much prefer TRELAWNE at bigger odds. He won here on penultimate start and has more to come.
Mr Vango knuckled down bravely to win the London National at Sandown but again had a hard race. He could still be the danger.
Ascot 2.50
Last chance saloon for DODDIETHEGREAT here. He was distracted at the start and then hampered over the first at Kempton and was quickly pulled up. He still has potential off this mark and if they go hard he may well be able to pick up the pieces.
Kamsinas is likeable and will also be suited if they go hard so could be the danger. Stablemate to the selection Bo Zenith also feared.
Haydock 3.05
I’m surprised PUNTA DEL ESTE is drifting a bit for this as his claims look crystal clear. He will love going back up in trip and still has potential to do better again. The stable are going well and he ticks more boxes than most.
Tune In A Box is likeable and should give his running again. Tiny Tetley is also respected and has been the one for money.
Ascot 3.32
The big race of the day now and it should be a really good contest. JONBON has the edge as both the ground and track should suit him better but Energumene is not to be underestimated. I think it’ll come down to who jumps better so a fascinating watch ahead.
Of the other pair they are likely to have their own race and Boothill would have to be fancied as he goes particularly well at this track.
