The Saturday after Cheltenham! Hopefully we can fire in some more winners. WELLINGTON ARCH looks the one to side with in the opener. He has won 2 of his last 3 now and impressed with how he asserted at Market Rasen. This step up in trip will suit and he is hard to oppose.
Hidden History bumped into Shutupshirley at Fontwell and has potential to do better now with Dan Skelton so looks the biggest danger.
Kempton 2.10
I wouldn’t judge ASTA LA PASTA too harshly on that run at Musselburgh. He shaped as if he was still in form and just bumped into one on the day. I think Insurrection is a nice horse so while the distance between them was quite significant it was still a promising run. He should be hard to beat here.
Teddy Blue arrives in winning form and did impress at Huntingdon so looks the obvious threat. Paddy In The Caddy also respected.
Uttoxeter 2.25
I have backed JOYEUX MACHIN the last twice and he has been eye-catching. He ran on strongly behind Altobelli at Ascot so no surprise to see him up in trip now. I think this distance will really suit and if he improves again off just a 2lb higher mark then he will be a danger to all in here.
Red Dirt Road arrives on a hat-trick and did impress beating Henri The Second at Sandown. The ground has dried out though so might not suit as much.
Kempton 2.45
I have been waiting to see DOUBLE POWERFUL out again. He had won 6 in a row before bumping into East India Express at Ascot. He was only denied a head though. Freshened up I think he could have more to come and this looks winnable.
Saint Anapolino is progressive and had no problem landing the hat-trick at Kempton last month. He could come forward again and looks the danger.
Uttoxeter 3.00
I always love watching the Midlands Grand National on the Saturday after Cheltenham and I’m confident TANGANYIKA can give us a good run for our money this year. He is just a 7yo but has impressed winning his last two and remains completely unexposed so could improve again and be a big player.
Apple Away will keep galloping and she showed that bumping into Famous Bridge at Haydock. Mr Vango is a dour stayer too and is feared as well.
Kempton 3.20
Finally things clicked again for BAD over this C&D last month. He was an impressive winner pulling 10 lengths clear at the line. He has gone up 9lb but if in the same form should have a great chance to follow up. There should be a lot of pace on which will suit him.
Flegmatik loves it here with 3 of his 4 wins over fences coming at this track. He has been out of form somewhat but back at this venue could threaten.
Uttoxeter 3.35
I thought DEAFENING SILENCE showed a great attitude to edge out Destroytheevidence at Warwick last month. His profile looks a progressive one now and with further improvement to come over fences I think he could follow up against these back in a handicap.
Walk On Quest has been flying winning his last 4 and you couldn’t rule out another big run despite a 4lb rise. Eyed is also likely to get competitive.
