Doncaster 1.15
Zero form to go on in the Brocklesby so the betting will definitely be important. I can see KAMAKAMELEOEN going close for Dylan Cunha. This Kameko colt cost £30,000 and is well related. The yard are in good form and he appeals more than most.
Norman’s Cay is likely to go off favourite for Richard Hannon in the Amo Racing silks and looks the danger.
Doncaster 1.50
Horses for courses in the Spring Mile and we know LOOK BACK SMILING goes well here. He won the race last year off a 1lb higher mark and despite the ground being quicker this time I can still see him running a big race at a double-figure price too.
Pressure’s On is down the bottom of the weights and has a run under his belt having gone close at Wolverhampton so is the danger.
Kempton 2.05
I can’t help but feel COOL PARTY is a great each way bet here. He didn’t shape badly at Lingfield last month and back at this track he should run a big race off his current mark with Silvestre De Sousa booked for the ride.
Kamboo looks too short to me and Who’s Glen is likely a bigger danger with this trip potentially a catalyst for further improvement.
Doncaster 2.25
Given his record fresh I think SPYCATCHER deserves to be favourite for this. He was progressive last season beating James’s Delight in France and he can confirm that form here. The ground is drying out but should still be holding enough.
James’s Delight does look the danger as he did well last season winning four times and should have more to come now.
Kempton 2.40
I’m surprised BALMACARA has drifted so much as he is still unexposed and he had excuses in the Cambridgeshire on final outing. He was progressive prior to that and should do well up in trip ahead of his all-weather debut.
Mount Atlas was a good second to Sun God at Newmarket when last seen and also has some decent form to his name so is definitely the danger.
Doncaster 3.00
The betting suggests this is wide open but I think it is a shootout between the top pair and LIBERTY LANE is definitely preferred. He impressed winning on penultimate start and then bumped into Lead Artist in a Group 3. He sets the standard and should have too much for these.
Botanical has been given a bullish shout by his jockey Billy Loughnane and is still unexposed so looks the obvious danger.
Kempton 3.15
Another horse I did not think would drift in SOPRANO. She is a tough and likeable filly who did well up to a mile last season winning the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and then a convincing winner of a Group 3 in France. She wasn’t disgraced in the Breeders’ Cup and is hard to oppose.
Shuwari has only had 4 starts and has looked promising so if she improves again she could emerge as the main threat.
Doncaster 3.35
A wide open Lincoln and we’d expect nothing less. I do really like MIDNIGHT GUN for Wathnan Racing. This son of Kingman was only beaten a length over C&D on final outing last year and has been targeted at this having been gelded. He looks well handicapped.
Plenty of dangers likely headed by Godwinson who is well suited by this big field scenario and could still do better this season.
