Newmarket 1.50
I can see DEFENCE MINISTER improving again now handicapping. He won his first two starts and then found the Middle Park too hot to handle. He should have more to come and if fit and ready to fire he could run a big race under James Doyle.
Al Misbar ran some big races in defeat as a 2yo and could be the danger. Gallant is another one who could run well.
Cheltenham 2.05
I just think EAST INDIA EXPRESS went off too hard in the Martin Pipe. He certainly wasn’t disgraced and will find this easier. He likely has more to come and the money is coming again so I’m anticipating a big run.
Strong Foundations is still lightly raced and shaped well in defeat at Warwick so looks the biggest danger.
Newmarket 2.25
Some expensive well bred horses line up for the Wood Ditton. I’m just about siding with CAUGHTREDHANDED who is by Cracksman and is a half-brother to Bartzella. The yard target this race (won 2 of the last 5 runnings) and he should go close.
Muhaajim is by Sea The Stars and should have a big future. If the money comes he could threaten. Dust Cover is another interesting one.
Cheltenham 2.40
I thought MOON D’ORANGE did well to hold on here on penultimate start having dived at the last. He was pulled up behind Caldwell Potter at the Cheltenham Festival but he just didn’t jump well enough. If he can put in a fluent display here he should run a big race.
O’moore Park has decent form in the book and is looking steadily progressive so could be the danger. Classic Getaway is also noted.
Newmarket 3.00
The step up to a mile clearly didn’t suit ROMANTIC STYLE in the Cape Verdi at Meydan. She was firmly back on track back sprinting last time though and a repeat of that against these would likely suffice and I expect her to justify favouritism.
Sajir impressed beating Vicious Harry in France last month and with more to come could give the selection most to think about.
Newmarket 3.35
The drying ground looks firmly in the favour of FIELD OF GOLD and I think he could be the one to beat. He was a stylish winner of the Solario at Sandown and then ran well in defeat in soft ground in France. He has more to come and is one to keep on side.
Wimbledon Hawkeye can keep improving and could be the danger. Opera Ballo is promising but will need to settle to see this out.
